Castelló is a depopulated village in our district and is located between Masboquera and Vandellòs. This medieval village was abandoned in 1950s, however it revives a few times a year thanks to the Masia de Castelló Association.
The main events organised by this entity include Rústic Festa taking place on the last weekend of August, where we can highlight the province’s accordion players’ get-together, music performances, traditional games and street shows. The other summer event is the Nit Lírica (lyrical night), an outdoor live concert in mid-July.
During the Yuletide, the Star Crib is set up, which is a very original disguise nativity scene that includes some typical biblical stories plus traditional arts and trades that used to exist in mountain villages like Castelló. So during three or four days, visitors can find such activities as charcoal piling, threshing, farmyard, school, forge… And on 13 December, on the Santa Llúcia day, Castelló celebrates its patronage festival, full of leisure, religion and solidarity.
